We see Cottonwood Connect as a complementary service to UTA’s Ski Buses and employee vanpool program to reduce single-occupancy vehicles and congestion.”

"We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the community on this program and are excited to support transportation options that reduce vehicles in the Cottonwood Canyons,” said UDOT Transit Project Manager Devin Weder. “We continue to work towards implementing Phase 1 improvements such as increased and improved bus service and hope that everyone takes full advantage of this great shuttle service as we transition to transit oriented travel in the canyons."

DEER VALLEY RESORT; PARK CITY, UTAH, August 24, 2023– Today, Deer Valley Resort takes a monumental step forward with the introduction of “Expanded Excellence,” a collection of transformative resort projects which include a major expansion of the resort’s legendary ski experience.

Rooted in history and guided by possibility, the resort is embarking on a multi-year mission to continue elevating the guest experience and solidify the resort’s status as the leading innovator of the ski industry. Situated in the Wasatch Mountains in Park City, Utah, Deer Valley is dedicated to delivering exceptional guest service and a ski-only experience with limited daily skiers.

“Expanded Excellence”, in its entirety, more than doubles the skiable terrain of the resort, delivers a new village at its base, offering guests premier opportunities and amenities, reimagines Snow Park
with a new base village, and revitalizes Deer Valley Resort’s existing facilities.

While Deer Valley will continue to unveil additional projects in the coming future, the first phase of “Expanded Excellence” will see Deer Valley develop and operate 3,700 acres of new skiable terrain to be completely integrated into the existing resort and add substantial new skier services as part of a new village and portal accessed via U.S. Route 40.

The expanded terrain will encompass 16 new chairlifts, including a 10-passenger gondola, and ski access across South Peak, Park Peak, Big Dutch, Pioche, and Hail Mountains on the east side of Deer Valley’s Bald Mountain. (Terrain formerly referred to as the Mayflower Mountain Resort project.) Boasting nearly a 3,000 vertical drop from the highest point on Park Peak at 9,350 feet, the additional terrain will offer skiing for all abilities across 135 planned ski runs, including several wide-open bowls and gladed areas.

The new terrain will open over a number of seasons with 2,900 acres serviced by 9 chairlifts and 110 ski runs to be introduced as early as the 2025/2026 winter season. Upon completion, Deer Valley will offer over 5,726 acres of skiable terrain accessed by 37 chairlifts serving 238 ski runs, which will feature grooming that adheres to Deer Valley's existing standards, all supported by a new cutting-edge snowmaking system.

“Deer Valley Resort is committed to building upon our legacy as one of the world’s most exceptional ski areas while staying true to our founding principles created over four-decades ago,” said Todd Bennett, President & COO, Deer Valley Resort. “This expansion will facilitate even better access to the resort for our guests, while offering a substantial increase in world-class amenities consistent with the resort’s original vision.”

The expansion will be anchored by a new village and portal at its base, envisioned in partnership with Extell Development Company. The village will feature a new Deer Valley skier services facility that includes ski school, children’s programs, rentals, retail, and food and beverage amenities. The multi-faceted expansion is expected to create approximately 2,000 new Deer Valley job opportunities.

Notably, the new portal will provide alternative access for guests visiting Deer Valley Resort directly from U.S. Route 40. With 1,200 new parking spaces planned for day-skier use, guests will have another means of entry that will expand on the resort’s arrival experiences and help reduce traffic in the town of Park City.

"Deer Valley Resort is known across the globe for its unique approach to first-class service. We are committed to building on their well-respected reputation and legacy by attracting some of the world’s best brands, in addition to elevating the living experience by creating luxury residences with exquisite architecture and design,” said Gary Barnett, Founder & Chairman, Extell Development Company. “This partnership with Deer Valley brings together two of the very best in the business of real estate, service and hospitality, and we look forward to working with them to create what will be the crown jewel of Utah.”

In addition to the ski-specific amenities, the new village at the base of the expanded skiable terrain is slated to have over 800 hotel rooms across multiple properties, nearly 1,700 residential units, 250,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and 68,000 square feet for recreation.

Big Cottonwood Canyon, UT August 14, 2023 – Amid a transformational summer, Solitude Mountain Resort is making headway on several extensive summer projects. These developments are part of $16 million in capital improvements coming to the resort.

Eagle Express has been completely removed making way for the installation of the new high-speed 6-person lift. The new chairlift will load and unload guests at similar locations, with slight changes being made to enhance guest flow. Concrete foundations for new lift towers are being poured; terminal installations are scheduled to begin in September. Eagle Express is projected to be operational by mid-December, 2023.

To improve skier access to Honeycomb Canyon this winter, three new Wyssen remote avalanche control systems (RACS) are being installed off of Fantasy Ridge. These towers will allow Solitude’s avalanche mitigation team to remote-detonate explosive charges in key areas of the mountain.

Gravity Logic and the Solitude Bike Park team have been making progress on a series of new downhill mountain bike trails off of Moonbeam Express. Several technical and freeride trails are on pace to be completed and open to ride before the end of the season. These new trails will vary in difficulty level to accommodate riders of all skill levels.

Construction efforts on these enhancements will continue to impact current mountain operations. Along with Honeycomb Canyon, existing mountain bike trails Queen Bess, Serenity, and Eagle Ridge are currently closed while these projects are underway.

“We know these trail closures can be frustrating in the short term, and we’re grateful for the community’s patience,” says Amber L. Broadaway, Solitude’s president and COO “With a new downhill mountain bike park, an upgraded chairlift, and three new remote avalanche control systems, we’re making tremendous strides this summer thanks to the hard work of the Solitude crew.”

Riders and hikers are advised to check Solitude’s Mountain Report daily for updated lift and trail status as conditions are expected to remain dynamic throughout the summer.

###

About Solitude Mountain Resort

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (June 1, 2023) – With most ski resorts now closed for winter operations after an exceptionally snowy season, Utah ski areas are thrilled to announce a record-breaking 2022-2023 winter season in snowfall and visitation. At least 12 out of 15 Utah resorts broke all-time snowfall records, and the remaining three resorts experienced their snowiest seasons since at least the 2014-2015 season. Alta Ski Area finished the season with an astounding and record-breaking 903” of snowfall. Snowbird will reopen for Father’s Day Weekend on June 17-18. While official number of statewide skier visits* is unable to be released until the resort’s official closure, Ski Utah expects to announce a record-breaking 7.1 million skier visits for the 2022-2023 season.

“The 2022-2023 season had a fantastic start, with resorts opening earlier than originally anticipated due to an abundance of early snowfall. The snow just didn’t stop falling until May,” said Nathan Rafferty, President of Ski Utah. “We are thrilled to have been a part of this historic season of endless powder days, record-breaking snowfall and boundless fun. There is still some skiing to be had in Utah as we head into summer, and we are looking forward to enjoying warm weather activities as resorts start to open for summer operations soon.”

Utah’s skier visits for 2022-2023 will likely be up 22% over the previous record-breaking season of 5.8 million skier visits in the 2021-2022 season. This is likely due to increased operating days after an early start and late end to the season. Plus, “the skiing was just that good,” said Rafferty.

According to the National Ski Areas Association, the ski industry is a major contributor to the United States economy with over $55 billion in retail spend and over 533,000 jobs across all 50 states. In Utah, ski and snowboard visitors spent $2.54 billion throughout the 2022-2023 season, up 8% from last season’s $2.35 billion spend. The Utah ski industry contributed $256.8 million in state and local tax revenue in 2021-2022.

Additional individual records broken throughout the 2022-2023 season include:

Utah had 44 Utah Powder Days (over 12” of snow in a 24 hour period). The yearly average is 19.

Eagle Point had nine Powder Fridays (over 12” of snowfall from prior week’s closing).

Alta Ski Area had 903” of snowfall, the most snowfall ever at a resort in Utah. The previous record was 748” in the 1981-1982 season. Alta saw an average of 5.1” per day throughout the season, and in March they saw 229” of snowfall, which is 244% of average.

Solitude had its longest season ever at 192 days and its snowiest season ever at 816”.

Snowbird broke its previous snowfall record of 783” (set in 2010-11) and is currently sitting at 838”. The resort also has had 47 days with 6” of new snow or more.

Powder Mountain recorded its highest snowpack since 1977 at 156”. The longest stretch of time without snow was a scant five days.

Brian Head Resort was the earliest to open for the 2022-2023 season in Utah on November 4, 2022.Brian Head Resort celebrated its longest season EVER and extended its season all the way to May 7th, 2023. The resort also experienced the most snow they've had in over 10 years at 448".

Cherry Peak experienced 466” of snowfall, a 60.4% increase over its previous record of 287”.

Deer Valley Resort experienced its longest and snowiest season on record, as well as its snowiest month on record in March with an unbelievable 160” of snow.

Nordic Valley experienced its longest and snowiest season on record.

Sundance Resort announced its highest base on record: 177” in April. The prior record was 129”. Sundance’s ground team shoveled an astounding 45 tons of snow from pathways and decks. This does not include parking lots.

Park City Mountain celebrated its longest season in 30 years and extended its season all the way to May 1, 2023. The resort also experienced its snowiest season on record at 636”.

Snowbasin had its longest season on record with an astounding 157 days of skiing. Snowbasin blew past its previous snowfall record of 475” in the 1981-82 season and ended the season with 613”. The resort received more snow this season than the previous two seasons combined.

Woodward Park City enjoyed its earliest opening on record, as well as its snowiest and longest season to date.

*The National Ski Areas Association defines ‘skier days’ as one person visiting a ski area for all or any part of a day or night for the purpose of skiing/snowboarding.

SOLITUDE ANNOUNCES OVER $16 MILLION IN CAPITAL IMPROVMENTS

March 29, 2023 (BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, UT) — Four transformative off-season projects are set to commence at Solitude Mountain Resort this summer. Eagle Express will be upgraded to a high-speed 6-person chairlift. Improvements to Solitude’s snowmaking infrastructure will yield increased efficiency and reliability. Three Wyssen towers will be installed in Honeycomb Canyon to assist with avalanche mitigation efforts on Fantasy Ridge. Gravity Logic will be completing new downhill mountain bike trails accessed from Moonbeam Express.

Installed in 1989, Eagle Express was the first high-speed detachable chairlift installed in Utah. In addition to shortened wait times on busy days, the increased uphill capacity of the new 6-person chairlift is expected to decrease congestion elsewhere on the mountain. Construction on the Doppelmayr lift will begin this spring, and the lift is expected to be operational by mid-December 2023.

Upgraded equipment will allow the resort to continue making snow on open runs that previously needed to remain closed during snowmaking operations. These improvements to Solitude’s snowmaking infrastructure will also create a more efficient and sustainable operation.

“Although we’re coming off a winter with exceptional snowfall, these improvements to our snowmaking system will be crucial as we work to open terrain early in the season and create a base that serves as our snowpack’s foundation when that natural snow comes,” says Amber L. Broadaway, Solitude’s President and COO.

Three new Wyssen tower remote avalanche control systems (RACS) will be installed across Fantasy Ridge. These installations will allow Solitude’s avalanche mitigation team to detonate explosives remotely in terrain that currently requires personnel to manually deploy hand charges. With these detonations, crews will be able to move through the avalanche terrain quicker, allowing terrain to be opened sooner.

This summer, Gravity Logic will complete new downhill mountain bike trails that will be accessed via Moonbeam Express. Flagging began last season with construction set to begin this spring, conditions permitting. These flow trails will vary in difficulty levels with jump lines on the advanced trails. The new trails are expected to open mid-summer, 2023. Winter Park Resort’s Trestle bike park and Deer Valley Resort’s bike park were also designed by Gravity Logic.

Additional off-season improvements include modest renovations to The Inn at Solitude and signature restaurants Honeycomb Grill and St. Bernard’s. Road access to Roundhouse, Solitude’s on-mountain wedding venue, will also be improved. In addition, music and PA systems will be installed at our three main lodges.

Finally, potential changes to Solitude’s paid parking policy, including a reservation system, are being considered. Any adjustments will be communicated this summer.

###

About Solitude Mountain Resort

It offers eight chairlifts, 82 runs, and 500 annual inches of snow spread over 1,200 acres with 20 km of groomed Nordic track and 10 km of snowshoe trails.

Snowbird, Utah, March 16, 2023 – An all-new collaboration between Snowbird and Woodward is coming to the mountain this spring. With over 600 inches of snowfall so far this season, Snowbird will play host to a Woodward Mountain Park experience, concluding with the Woodward Peace Park Championships.

The Woodward Mountain Park, a transformational and re-imagined approach to terrain parks, will consist of small- to medium-sized terrain park features located off Baldy Express in Mineral Basin from April 14 through at least May 7. Designed in conjunction with the Woodward Global Mountain Park teams and terrain park industry leaders Snow Park Technologies and Effective Edge, the park will showcase an innovative, fun and intuitive on-mountain experience.

“As part of the POWDR family, this collaboration between Snowbird and Woodward has been a long time coming—bringing together not only our unique and beloved brands but also our employees and their expertise," said Snowbird President and General Manager Dave Fields. “We are proud and excited to offer a dynamic new way for Snowbird guests to explore and enjoy the mountain this spring.”

This exciting collaboration will reach its pinnacle with the Woodward Peace Park Championships, an invite-only snowboard event created by X Games Gold Medalist, Dew Tour Champion and Olympian Danny Davis. The event will span May 2-6 on a course designed by Davis and will bring some of the world’s best snowboarders to Snowbird in the spirit of collaboration, creativity and fun. The world-class course will open to the public on May 6 during Peace Park for the People, when the Snowbird community will be invited to experience the course for themselves alongside the competitors.

“When Danny Davis created the idea of a Peace Park, he imagined a new type of experience, one that reinvented freestyle terrain with a focus on fun and flow,” said Woodward President Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson. “This collaboration with Snowbird, arguably one of the most incredible mountains in the world, is sure to be one of the best Woodward Peace Parks we’ve seen as top pros gather and ride Snowbird in an entirely new way.”

Snowbird is scheduled to be open for daily skiing and riding through May 14, and then will be open Friday-Sundays and holidays through Memorial Day. With no closing date in sight, Snowbird will continually assess operations past Memorial Day based on conditions.

Skiers and snowboarders can track and compare scores against other NASTAR participants around the country in their age group.

“Mikaela’s not just a champion, she’s also a role model and inspiration to us all and we’ve been fortunate to have her as an Ikon Pass ambassador since its inception,” said Jared Smith, President & CEO of Alterra Mountain Company. “Making these courses available to more of our guests is the perfect way for us to share our amazement for what she’s accomplished by exposing even more people, young and old, to a truly unique on-mountain activity.”

This is the earliest the resort has crossed the 350-inch threshold since the winter of 2004/05. The region has seen consistent snowfall for much of the winter, particularly during the last three weeks. Between December 26th and January 17th, Solitude saw an average of 8.8 inches of new snow per day.

As of today, 100% of Solitude’s skiable terrain is open. This includes sought after experts-only areas such as Fantasy Ridge, Highway to Heaven, and Evergreen Peak. With optimal coverage across the mountain, Solitude’s snowpack is at 192% of average with a base depth of 114 inches.

Solitude has taken full advantage of this historic snowfall, maximizing its open terrain and lifts to allow guests to better spread out and explore the mountain during lively holiday periods. For updated snowfall measurements, mountain conditions, and operations updates all season long, check the Solitude Mountain Report. New for this season, Solitude has launched two live webcams giving guests a real-time perspective of the both the base and summit.

In an effort to better serve non-skiing guests during this remarkable winter, snowshoes and Nordic ski rentals are now available in Solitude Village. This is ideal for visitors looking to take in Utah’s natural winter beauty at a slower pace. Accessible via snowshoe from Solitude Village, The Yurt is now open for lunch and serving a variety of hearty stews, salads, and cocktails.

Brian Head, Utah - Development and construction are currently underway for a new master-planned ski-in, ski-out mountain resort community at Brian Head Resort, which will not only introduce new neighborhoods but may also include expanded skiing terrain, additional lifts and enhanced year-round recreational opportunities.

Located just under Brian Head Peak, the highest peak in Iron County, Aspen Meadows is a legacy, multi-decade, master-planned mountain resort and residential neighborhood that occupies nearly 2,000 acres of aspen and fir forests and spacious mountain meadows. Its location is adjacent to Brian Head Resort, home to Utah’s highest base elevation.

The unique location of the community will introduce a third base area for the ski area, which will include a village center and lodge that feature unobstructed views of southern Utah’s famous red cliffs, additional parking and skier services. The Aspen Meadows plan includes opening up more than 850 acres of new skiing terrain and up to 7 fixed and high-speed detachable lifts.

“Aspen Meadows is truly a special collection of alpine lands, with the perfect slope aspects for ski terrain never before seen by most visitors to this region of southern Utah,” said A. Flint Decker, president of the Aspen Meadows Group. “We’re proud to be a part of this new chapter in our community’s history as we share new ski terrain and resort amenities with the town of Brian Head and the guests of Brian Head Resort.”

News of this community comes in conjunction with Brian Head Resort’s record-breaking winter season, which has included the resort’s earliest opening in history and some of the best conditions in the country, said Brian Head general manager Marilyn Butler. “From the moment we opened on November 4, we knew this season would be special, and the Aspen Meadows vision has only added to our team’s excitement,” Butler said. “Together, we will advance our purpose of Giving People the Freedom to Ski while expanding both our winter and summer operations in the future.”

In addition to expanded skiing, Aspen Meadows plans include new hiking and mountain biking trails.

Development and construction of the Aspen Meadows master plan are currently in process with its first two dedicated ski-in, ski-out neighborhoods, the Southeast neighborhood and Christmas Tree neighborhood, and its initial road network, well, and utility infrastructure.

About Aspen Meadows
Aspen Meadows, a master-planned ski-in, ski-out mountain resort community located just under the highest peak, at 11,307 feet (Brian Head Peak), based in Iron County and Brian Head, Utah, is a special collection of lands with its magnificent forests of aspen and fir, spacious mountain meadows, and breathtaking views. Aspen Meadows is unique to Brian Head and the Markagunt Plateau mountain ranges and is envisioned as a legacy, multi-decade, master-planned mountain resort and residential neighborhood development that occupies nearly 2,000 acres.
A thoughtfully designed ski-in, ski-out community comprised of residential, commercial, recreational, resort and civic uses, potentially doubling the skiable acres of the Brian Head Resort from 650 skiable acres today to 1500 skiable acres in the future and provides the greater Brian Head community and visitors, the addition of new hiking trails, mountain biking trails, ski trails, ski lifts and snowmaking, servicing the expanded terrain.

For generations, this stunning alpine terrain was home to many pioneer cabins first established as a result of the Federal Homestead Act of 1862, signed by President Abraham Lincoln, granting Americans up to 160-acre plots of public land, expanding the western territories. These first residents who settled the upper mountain regions of Iron County within and surrounding
Aspen Meadows included such prominent local family names such as “Burton, Lyman, and Adams,” as well as many others. Later in the early 60’s, this land was first envisioned, assembled and held by the three previous resort ownership groups with a clear vision the land was destined to expand and provide future ski terrain for Brian Head Resort.
Aspen Meadows today was established in 2022. Aspen Meadows is best known for its large open spaces, mature aspen and fir tree stands, rolling benches, open alpine meadows, high-altitude ski terrain, and summer grazing grounds. Its alpine lands are found to be especially ideal for skiing and riding with its combination of north-facing and northwest-facing slope aspects, excellent for snow retention, minimal wind scour, and minimal to late afternoon sun exposure.

Plans include expanding summer and winter activities for the avid outdoor enthusiast, visitor and residents alike. Sustainable growth will come through a passion for thoughtful design, re-use of materials from on-site, and long-term investment placed in multiple development projects over a 30-year period, subject to US Forest Service, Brian Head Town and UDOT approvals.
Investments to include, additional ski lifts, ski trail expansion, potential resort connectivity to Brian Head Resort, increased snowmaking capacity, public hiking, and biking trails, alpine ski villages, civic uses and security-inspired gated neighborhoods comprising custom luxury mountain homes, stunning homesites, townhomes, condominiums, hotels, inns, planned unit developments, mountain cottages, and ranches.
For more information, please visit www.aspenmeadowsclub.com.

About Brian Head Resort
Situated at 9,600 feet, Brian Head is home to Utah’s highest base elevation, and receives nearly 360 inches of snowfall annually. Hailed as one of Utah’s most affordable, family friendly resorts, Brian Head Resort features two connected mountains, Giant Steps and Navajo. The 1,320-feet of lift-served vertical is accessible by 71 runs, 8 chair lifts, including two high-speed detachable quads added in 2014 and 2019, 3 surface lifts, a ski and snowboard school, night skiing, multiple terrain parks and tubing.
Serving destination skiers in major metropolitan areas and local outdoor enthusiasts alike, Brian Head Resort is located three short hours from Las Vegas, three and a half hours from Salt Lake City, and about seven hours from both Los Angeles and Phoenix. Since its founding in 1964, Brian Head Resort remains a significant recreational and tourism attraction for Utah and surrounding southwest states. Resort leadership is recognized for a longstanding commitment to the local communities of Brian Head Town, Parowan City, Cedar City and St. George City.
In the summer months, Brian Head Resort offers scenic chairlift rides, lift-served mountain
biking, hiking, disc golf, and a full schedule of family friendly activities and events.
Salt Lake City (January 11, 2022)— Yesterday the Salt Lake County Council appropriated $239,520 in funding for a private transportation provider to increase the frequency of service and number of people riding public transportation to Salt Lake County ski resorts for the 2023 ski season. The goal of the new “Cottonwood Connect” ski transportation service is to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality and enhance the visitor experience.

This public, private partnership was funded in part by Visit Salt Lake, Utah Transit Authority (UTA), Alta Ski Area, Snowbird, Solitude Mountain Resort and Brighton Resort. The “Cottonwood Connect” service will supplement the recent reduction of existing ski bus services provided by UTA.

The Cottonwood Connect service will run Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays beginning on January 26, 2023, and will conclude services on April 16, 2023. Passengers will pay $10 for a round-trip service and reservations will be required through an online portal, details forthcoming.

A fleet of mini-coaches and large passenger vans will ramp up their frequency throughout the program. Beginning with a weekly capacity of 784 passengers and ending with a 1,120 weekly passenger capacity. Snow Country Limousine was selected as the service provider after a request for proposal process by Visit Salt Lake.

Areas served by Cottonwood Connect include Midvale, Cottonwood Heights and Sandy with stops at area hotels and public park & ride lots in partnership with UTA.

“I’m proud of everyone who came together to make this a reality. ‘Cottonwood Connect’ will benefit so many across the valley who want to use our canyons this winter and environmentally it’s another win for our community,” said Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson.

“We felt strongly about helping to create a way for our visitors and locals to enjoy more options to reach our mountain playground,” said Kaitlin Eskelson, president & CEO of Visit Salt Lake. “Salt Lake is the perfect urban basecamp for winter adventures and our goal is to create a seamless experience.”

“We welcome the world to our city. We want to share the beauty of the mountains that we enjoy every day.” said Sandy City Mayor Monica Zoltanski. “We also want to assure it’s the canyon trails and the ski runs visitors remember, not the red snake of tail lights moving up and down the canyon. We appreciate the support of Salt Lake County leaders for the Ski Bus Bypass Service that will be one key in helping solve the congestion problem.”

Visit Salt Lake is a private, non-profit corporation responsible for the promotion of Salt Lake as a convention and travel destination.

DeMoisy Express, a six-person chairlift is set to debut in the 2023-24 winter season

Huntsville, UT – December 28, 2022 – Snowbasin Resort is thrilled to announce the construction of a new six-person high-speed lift that will enhance the skier experience and provide additional lift capacity in the Strawberry area of the resort. The installation of the new DeMoisy Express is set to take place in advance of the 2023-24 winter season.

DeMoisy Express, aptly named after the historic DeMoisy Peak that it will be nestled beneath, is the highly anticipated addition to the award-winning advanced lift system at Snowbasin. The bottom terminal will be positioned near the existing Strawberry Gondola bottom terminal. The top terminal will drop passengers in a wind-protected area above Dan’s Run. Through this strategic placement, Snowbasin will be able to double the uphill availability of this region, provide multiple options for skiers and riders into the Strawberry area, and allow access to this varied and sought-after terrain more frequently throughout the season. Additional benefits include the creation of new trails, more convenient access to the main base area and additional capacity to relieve congestion in the Strawberry area on busier days.

"To say that both the Snowbasin staff and loyal guests will be excited about this lift announcement may be the understatement of the year,” said Davy Ratchford, Vice President and General Manager of Snowbasin Resort. “DeMoisy Express has been contemplated as part of our future plans for the resort, and we are thrilled to be moving forward on this incredible addition. Not only will this lift provide our guests with more convenient access to some of their favorite areas on the mountain, but it will also increase capacity and allow us to maintain access to the Strawberry area during certain times that can challenge the ongoing operation of the Strawberry gondola. We cannot wait for our guests to experience the benefits of the new DeMoisy Express. This new lift should significantly enhance our beloved locals' skiing and riding experience and allow new guests to experience exceptional terrain easier and faster than ever before."

DeMoisy Express will be Snowbasin's 13th lift and the most recent addition since the new Middle Bowl Express in 2021. As with Middle Bowl, the resort will be working with Leitner POMA of America for the manufacturing and installation of this project. The new chairlift will have the ability to transport 2,400 riders every hour, with bottom-to-top service in approximately ten minutes.

Snowbasin's lifts were ranked No. 2 by SKI Magazine in 2022. The addition of DeMoisy Express is expected to increase the lift system’s notoriety and enhance the overall experience of the resort.
Mountainlands Community Housing Trust is raising funds for Holiday Village affordable housing project during Live PC Give PC on November 4, 2022

Park City, UT (November 3, 2022) – Mountainlands Community Housing Trust is thrilled to accelerate its funding drive for its redevelopment of Holiday Village & Parkside Apartments (HOPA) with the announcement of a $250,000 donation from Park City Mountain.

The vision of Holiday Village & Parkside Apartments is to sustain and increase housing opportunities in the heart of the Park City community. It will preserve and enhance housing for 122 households, as well as providing a significant number of additional affordable units and community spaces at the intersection of Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard.

“Ultimately, this incredible donation from Park City Mountain will benefit members of our diverse community – friends, neighbors, colleagues and family,” says Pat Matheson, executive director of Mountainlands Community Housing Trust. “With phased redevelopment and inclusive design, we have a vision of reducing debt through donations and affordable housing investments.”

Park City Mountain’s donation will be disbursed over the next three years and is powered by EpicPromise, the charitable arm of Vail Resorts, which provided $4.3m in cash and in-kind donations in Park City between August 2021 and July 2022. EpicPromise enables resort leaders in each of Vail Resorts’ mountain communities to contribute donations of cash, time and in-kind gifts to local nonprofits in line with community priorities.

“Affordable housing is a crisis in many mountain town communities, and Park City is no exception,” says Deirdra Walsh, vice president & chief operating officer of Park City Mountain. “We are continually looking for ways to alleviate that pressure where it matters to our employees, guests and community: here in Summit and Wasatch Counties. Through our financial support of Mountainlands Community Housing Trust, we are confident that we can make a big impact on housing affordability in our community in the coming years.”

Another key partner in Mountainlands’ pursuit of diversity is Bridge 21, a local nonprofit focused on creating neuro-inclusive housing communities. Bridge 21 is a long-term partner in the redevelopment, ensuring that the finished spaces and third-party services effectively and equitably serve the neuro-diverse community members.

This announcement comes on the eve of Live PC Give PC 2022, a 24-hour community fundraising event for which Mountainlands Community Housing Trust has set an ambitious fundraising goal of $300,000, anchored by a generous $1m matching pledge from the Solomon family. The next phase of development depends on raising the full matching $1m by June 2023.

“We hope that this generous donation by Park City Mountain will inspire every person in the Park City community to consider how they can participate in Live PC Give PC this year and help address our affordable housing crisis,” says Diego Zegarra, vice president of equity & impact at Park City Community Foundation, which organizes the day of giving. “Live PC Give PC is a unique opportunity to have your donation doubled and minimum gifts start at five dollars.”
